Snow, you are pretty but I wish you'd go away
Will this cold weather ever end? It is torture for this warm weather girl.

50th Birthday Vacation
Some vacations inspire you. I wanted to redo my entire house to look like this hotel room in Cozumel, Mexico. I'm CRAZY about that lighted headboard ! I'm crazy about that man on the couch too.

Guitarists
Taking a break from canning "maters" I switched on the TV. The show that was already on when I powered up the satellite was about Jimmy Page, Edge, and Jack White (StarzHD).
I am ALWAYS hooked when I see any Rock documentary. I would describe how great the show was but I can't because I'm speechless. Except to say "I got goosebumps"
Thanks to all the wonderful musicians out there who give us goosebumps. I believe it is truly God delivering beauty to us on earth.

Eggplant and Figs
I'll start with the figs. On the way to letting the dogs out for the day I passed our fig tree full of ripe figs. Being a southern woman I am genetically unable to pass any ripe fruit or vegetable without feeling guilty. They must be pickled, frozen, canned or "jammed". I chose to jam.
Yesterday I spent hours breading, frying and freezing eggplant slices. They'll make yummy Eggplant Parmesan this winter.
Tuesday was a day for tomato canning and corn freezing. I have a humble respect for those women of the old days who had to put food up or starve. I do know that it is a privilege and a blessing to have such an abundance of food.
Preserving your on food in these times is more of a luxury than necessity.
My last two weeks have been a frenzy of canning, freezing, pickling and "jamming". Hmmmmm, I'll be glad when Pirate Football Season gets here...... I need a BREAK!!
